Location All locations Department Math, Science & Health Days and Hours See Special Instructions Requisition Number Position Goals • The Nursing Teaching Administrator (TA) will be responsible for teaching undergraduate nursing courses to LPN and LPN to RN nursing students. The TA will also provide academic and administrative support to the leadership of the nursing programs. The TA will adhere to the mission of the nursing programs of Camden County College to prepare graduates to practice safe, competent, patient-centered care in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing health care system. Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Teach a variety of courses in fall, spring and summer semesters for a minimum of 24 contact hours per year. Minimum of 1 clinical per semester required. - Conduct classes as scheduled. - Process and post grades as scheduled in the academic year. - Start class on time and conduct class for the fully scheduled time period. - Provide students with a written statement of course requirements and expectations that shall include the attendance and grading policy, course objectives, and a course/topical lab outline. - Retain all credit course documentation for a period of not less than three (3) years upon the completion of the course. - Observe the approved Departmental Master Syllabi. • Compile and analyze student data including but not limited to outcomes and student surveys. • Assist with Master Schedule. • Engage in course, program development, assessment activities, curriculum review, curriculum development and accredidation development. • Assist in preparation of documents/requirements for accreditation. • Advise students in academic and professional matters as they pertain to the Nursing Programs and assist students with course registration issues as needed. • Participate in student remediation and student success initiatives • Assist in preparation of College Catalog and Academic Advisement Guide and nursing handbook • Attend the monthly department, division, and Faculty Assembly meetings. • Assist with developing the program budgets, as well as other aspects of purchasing requisitions, as needed. • Conduct classroom/lab/clinical observations of the nursing adjuncts as needed. • Participate in adjunct hiring process. • Participate in student admission process/recruitment/retention/orientation. • Participate in students advising, registration, and programmatic related support. • Assist in the Academic Program Review (APR) of the Nursing curriculum as required. • Attend Nursing Advisory Board meetings which shall include members of the business/industrial community. • Supervise student workers and temporary part-time employees as needed. • Work closely with Nursing Director, nursing faculty/instructor and staff. • Participate in the development and teaching of Continuing Education courses as part of assignment, as needed. • Attend all appropriate in-service and/or orientation functions, including Fall and Spring Open House; College commencement as well as any nursing graduations and functions. • Travel between college campuses and clinical facilities, as needed. • Adhere to all federal or NJ State mandated training to include, but not limited to, Right-To-Know, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Organ Donation. • Adhere to the "Professional Code of Ethics" subscribed by the Board of Trustees/Board of Nursing. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications BSN degree required; MSN degree preferred. Registered Nurse license required; must be eligible for NJ licensure. Two years recent clinical experience. Prefer two years teaching experience. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires standing and bending constantly for minimally three hours per day, climbing up to six feet regularly, exposure to chemicals periodically throughout the day, and light lifting up to 40lbs. Availability for travel between College locations and clinical facilities on a regular basis is required.
