Position Overview: Position Type: Locum Tenens, PRN basis Specialty: General Medicine Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Shift Type: Days (Flexible schedule) Responsibilities: Compensation & Pension (C&P) Exams: Conduct one-time, non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments for veterans. Exams are interview-based , with some physical assessments (range of motion testing, muscle strength testing, etc.). No treatment or prescription required. Coverage Options: Travel and perform exams at designated facilities. Option to schedule veterans within your own practice. Work part-time (4-hour shifts) or full-time (8-hour shifts), depending on your availability. Qualifications: Specialty Requirements: We are accepting physicians from the following specialties: Family Medicine Internal Medicine Orthopedic Surgery Physicians with a general medicine background or experience in compensation and pension exams. Familiarity with: Musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions. Proficient in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions. System Requirements: Must use a goniometer for physical assessments. Proficiency with diagnostic tools related to veterans' health assessments. Certification Requirements: Board Certified in your specialty. Active and unrestricted Alabama medical license . Willingness to complete DMA certification (CME credits available, certification required after privileging).
