Job Title: Medical Assistant Location: Zephyrhills, FL, 33542 Contract: 03 months possible contract to hire Shift: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Hours Per week: 40 hours per week. What are the top responsibilities for this position? Ability to evaluate patient needs, administer prescribed medications, assist physician with examinations and treatment, prepare and apply dressings, and instruct patients in health measures and self-care as instructed by the physician. Ability to document and report findings and observations. Ability to perform EKGs. Ability to provide on-site emergency treatment within scope of practice. Ability to complete a color blindness test. Must be computer literate. Advanced, demonstrated proficiency with electronic health records. Ability to interact and verbally communicate effectively with patients and all levels of personnel in a professional, courteous and effective manner with excellent customer service skills. Ability to multi- task in a high paced environment with good organizational skills. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and to work with general guidance. Knowledge of medical equipment and maintenance. EKG Must have qualifications/experience: High school graduate, GED or equivalent. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross). Three years as a certified Medical Assistant, or a cumulative total of 5 years of both certified and non-certified Medical Assistant experience (with at least 2 of those years being certified). Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification. Preferred: At least one year of experience as a lead, or in training other Medical Assistants in a clinic setting. Previous experience in championing or leading change initiatives in the clinical environment. What skills/attributes are nice to have, and will set a candidate apart?
