You will deliver age-appropriate care that considers the physical and psychological needs of each resident according to their care plan. Your responsibilities include: Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and obtaining vital signs. Offering psycho-social support and personal care. Facilitating safe transfers, repositioning, and ambulation of residents using appropriate techniques and equipment. Administering prescribed medications as directed by licensed nurses while maintaining accurate documentation of care outcomes. Communicating any changes in resident condition and care-related concerns to the charge nurse. Assisting with meal preparation and dining to enhance the resident’s experience. Helping maintain clean living environments, and participating in wellness and recreational programs. Completing non-invasive specimen collections and vital signs gathering. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: High school diploma or GED preferred. Age of at least 18 years, with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care being a plus. Completion of required yearly competency testing and continuing education (minimum of 12 hours annually as state regulations necessitate). Valid driver's license and auto insurance may be required, depending on duties. Iowa: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is essential. Completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide course is needed. North Dakota: CNA certification is required, along with successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide course and Medication Assistant I or II certification based on the facility type. South Dakota: Completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide course is necessary. Active certified nursing assistant registration in state of practice, or ability to obtain it within 120 days.
