JOB DETAILS: Biodesix is currently seeking mobile phlebotomists to work as independent contractors to collect samples directly from patients' homes or workplaces. This role involves drawing samples for blood-based tests that utilize genomics and proteomics to reveal personalized insights about tumor biology. Additionally, you will be responsible for testing COVID-19 in asymptomatic individuals or those who have recently recovered from the virus. All necessary training for performing various sample types and using kits will be provided virtually. NOTE: This is a contract position. Payment will be processed within 30 days of invoicing. EQUIPMENT: All necessary kits and draw supplies (needles, tourniquets, tubes, etc.) will be provided. Reliable transportation is necessary for sample collections at patients' homes or workplaces. Must supply your own gloves and sharps container and have access to a disposal service. Access to a smartphone, computer/laptop, and printer is required for receiving orders and printing documents. Ensure proper processes are in place for receipt and disposal of PHI. RESPONSIBILITIES: Contact each patient within 24 hours of the scheduling request. Schedule appointments promptly (within 1 to 3 days). Maintain communication with the office regarding scheduling, patient concerns, or any complications during draws. Accurately collect specimens following kit instructions to guarantee the validity of testing. Pack and ship samples on the same day using materials provided by the company. Invoice for draws in a timely manner for payment processing. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Proven phlebotomy skills, specifically in venipuncture. At least 1 full year of phlebotomy experience within the last 3 years. Strong verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and issue resolution. Capacity to deliver respectful and compassionate care, especially for patients who may be vulnerable due to illness. Adherence to established procedures and the ability to exercise sound judgement. Organized methodology for patient contact and scheduling while ensuring effective communication with the office. Exceptional preparedness and time management skills to conduct draws efficiently. Technical competence in managing electronic communications, including printing, scanning, and uploading documents.
