Unit Description: Nights - Full Time Days - Full Time Part Time - 28 weekly hours (Day), 32 weekly hours (Day) and 16 weekly hours (Day). No Per Diem “As a nurse on the Progressive Care Unit, you can care for a wide range of moderately complex patients between two unique units, R3/R4. PCU provides advanced monitoring with sophisticated equipment, intensive treatments, and a team approach to promote wellness through assessment, monitoring, and education in critically ill patients. The Progressive Care nurse primarily treats patients with the following diagnosis: compromised airway requiring intensive respiratory therapy, controlled infusion of antiarrhythmic or vasoactive IV drug therapy, acute poisoning, suicide attempts, multisystem failure, neurologic abnormalities, metabolic crisis, multiple trauma, chest pain, myocardial infarction, heart failure, hemodynamic instability, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, post-anesthesia care, mechanical ventilation, cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia analysis, thrombolytic therapy, GI bleeding, internal/external pacing, electrical cardioversion, acute dialysis (peritoneal, hemodialysis) and post-cardiac arrest. PCU nurses are encouraged and supported for professional growth with committee commitments, education seminars, certifications, advancement in degree, LEAD, preceptor course, and within-department education.” On-call: Not required Incentives: $10K RN Sign-On Bonus for full-time (pro-rated for part-time) Requirements: Current RN licensure recognized by the State of New York required.
