Job Summary and Qualifications The technologist conducts procedures to provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients. The position's tasks and responsibilities include: Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in the performance of CT scans assessment and reassessment and implementation of the patient's orders in accordance with the department and organizational standards and policies Completes patient documentation specific to CT scans Assist Physicians and Radiologist during procedures. Performs CT scans in a timely and efficient manner. Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed Performs all computer and PACS functions Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff Maintains thorough knowledge of the scanners and exam protocols in order to ensure the highest quality procedures Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities. Orients and mentors new staff members. Provides a safe environment for administering contrast material. Assists with transporting patients. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to make independent decisions while maintaining act, maturity and a positive attitude. Initiative and judgment required in assuming responsibilities. Performs high-level disinfection. Operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body. Under the supervision of a Radiologist, performs x-ray/fluoro procedures on patients. Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns. May administer barium salts or other chemical mixtures. Operates stationary equipment and/or portable equipment used in the Emergency Department, Operating Room and at patient bedside. Takes pictures and develops images. What qualifications you will need: Education/Skills Technical degree or vocational training Experience Prefer at least 1 year of CT experience Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications ARRT(R) or ARRT (N)(CT) MRT BLS obtained by HCA approved vendor. ARRT (CT) preferred. Specific Requirements Must be able to be on an on-call status and respond within thirty (30) minutes of notification. Must be able to work at the main facility, Saginaw FSED, and Haslet FSED, depending on department needs.
