Job Responsibilities Physician Assistant will provide emergency medicine to assist in the medical care to SC Youth Challenge Academy Cadets and Staff. This Physician Assistant must be able to provide expert quality of care when giving guidance by the medical doctor. Will work under the direction and guidance of an assigned medical doctor. Meet with physician extender monthly to review medical charts and conditions. Take on-call whenever physician extender is not available. Board knowledge of child health and development and understanding of laws and code governing health programs. Minimum and Additional Requirements Valid SC Medical Licensed to practice in SC, DO or MD. Preferred Qualifications Valid SC Medical Licensed to practice in SC, DO or MD. Experience in the delivery of emergency medical services to pediatric patients. Additional Comments Knowledge of agency policies, procedures, regulations and program services. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and orally. Knowledge of the techniques and practices of the medical field. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Knowledge of health standards and hazards; safety practices and procedures; stages of child development; and pediatric and family practices. Must be on call 24/7 as the Physician Assistant.
