Orthodontic Assistant for quality oriented private practice. The primary role of the Orthodontic Dental Assistant is to assist the Orthodontist in the overall delivery of oral care and work independently to provide an exceptional patient experience. Summary of Essential Job Functions: • Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including installing braces, adjusting wires, and placing aligners. • Prepare and sterilize orthodontic instruments and equipment. • Fabricate and fit orthodontic appliances, such as retainers. • Remove braces, wires, and bands as needed. • Maintain accurate patient records. • Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques specific to orthodontic care. • Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in each operatory. • Instruct patients on general oral health care, as directed by the orthodontist. • Ensure compliance with all pertinent laws and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, ADA, and Dental Board requirements. • Record patient charting and update records as needed. • Take digital orthodontic x-rays and photographs. • Perform other duties as assigned. Schedule: Monday & Tuesday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Alternating Wednesday and Thursdays: 8:00 am - 5:00pm. Status: Part Time, 24 hours per week Compensation: $20-$30 per hour, depending on experience.
