This will include and is not limited to: sterilizing all items and maintaining laundry, Additional duties will include maintaining facilities according to VMC cleanliness standards and ordering or stocking supplies. The specific duties and work schedule will vary based on current needs. Responsibilities: Provide excellent service. Employee is courteous (polite, amiable) to team members, clients and supervisor. Responsible for ensuring that all services and supplies are charged for according to hospital fee schedule. Keeps work areas clean and organized Work as a team member. Technical Duties 30%Prepare/launder garments such as scrub suits, coveralls, towels and lab coats for users, 10% Perform preventive maintenance and related procedures on sterilizers, washer, dryers, etc, 10 % Sterilize instrument and linen packs, operate steam sterilizers plus washer/sterilizer 5% Maintain accurate records of packs, garments, instruments, etc, processed through CSR area 5% clean instruments, assemble surgical packs 5% preparing sterile tubing and other specialized items 20% Creating sterile packs for surgery use 10% Arrange preventative maintenance for large sterilizing equipment 5% Order supplies and equipment 5% Maintain CSR inventory Work Environment This work is generally performed at The University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine, and at the Veterinary Medical Center. This work environment may include exposure to noise, bright/low lighting, temperature variations, and allergens such as mold, dust, hay and animal hair and dander. This position has physical requirements pertaining to lifting, pushing, and reaching. The position is required to transfer up to fifty pounds from cartons to shelves or pallets, push large pallets weighing over one hundred pounds, reach to place or remove boxes of supplies on or from shelving or floor. Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials Required Qualifications: Successful completion of a accredited Central Sterile Processing training program or 3 months experience as a Hospital Central Services Technician or equivalent. Must be able to stand on feet for entire work shift, able to lift 40lbs chest high, be able to bend and stoop repeatedly during the handling of materials.
