Salary Range $12.00 - $12.00 Hourly Position Type Part Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Travel Percentage Up to 50% Category Nonprofit - Social Services Description Position Summary: The Food Pantry Coordinator oversees food drive and community meal program activities for the area to which they are assigned. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. Essential Job Functions: Oversees food pantry operations including pick-up and delivery to the agency of food for the food pantry; Prepares requisitions for food and commodities as needed, and receives and properly stores all deliveries; Assists with gathering food from different locations to bring to the pantry site; Maintains high health standards, cleanliness, and sanitation, including the wearing of hairnets and/or caps at all times within food pantry area; Maintains kitchen, pantry, and food storage environments that are in compliance with Health Department standards; Ensures that equipment is in good operating condition and that the temperatures are within proper standards; Remains aware of fire and safety hazards and report repair/maintenance needs; Embraces and embodies the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation; Performs any other duties as assigned. Qualifications Certifications/Licensures: Serve Safe Certification strongly preferred; Preference will be given to certified candidates; Valid drivers license and the ability to obtain and maintain WestCares vehicle insurance is required. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience and Competencies: At least one (1) year of experience working with food, either in a kitchen or restaurant setting is required; Previous experience working with food in a community or food pantry setting is preferred; Ability to communicate effectively in order to relay information to others is required; Professional appearance and demeanor required; Ability to relate well with a diversity of ages and cultural backgrounds; Experience in working with high-risk youth and their families preferred; Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to prevention and substance abuse preferred; Must be sensitive to populations served. Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in an outdoor/indoor food pantry setting; Travel between multiple locations will be required; Regular and prompt attendance is required throughout employment.
