Job Title: Utility Worker Location: Heywood Wakefield Commons Gardner, MA 01440 Hours: Part Time Reports To: Sous Chef & Executive Chef Job Description: Responsible for food preparation, loading of carts with supplies, and delivering meals to residents. Some food production, sanitation and proper use of food service equipment. Cleaning and disinfecting of facility, and assisting in other areas as needed. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for maintaining high sanitation and safety standards. 2. Assist in preparation of menu items for daily meals and functions, and delivering meals to resident tables or apartments. 3. Assist with special diets and alternates. 4. Maintains a "clean as you go" policy. 5. Responsible for stocking supplies on upper floors. 6. Assist with daily cleaning and sanitizing of community. 7. Performs other duties related to the food service operation at Heywood Wakefield Commons. Working Conditions: Will require some A.M. opening shifts and/or some P.M. closing shifts. Conditions will include lifting (a maximum of 25 lbs.). May work with hazardous equipment, steam, gas, chemicals, detergents and knives. Appropriate uniforms, and/ or protective equipment must be worn on a daily basis with a name tag. Qualifications: Familiarity with kitchen operations is desirable. Good time-management skills. Strong desire to serve the elder population Dependability, good work ethic and the ability to follow directions. Good personal hygiene. Good attendance record.
