Job Summary As an RN in acute care, you will deliver professional nursing services to acutely ill patients, utilizing critical thinking and sound judgment in accordance with established policies and protocols. You will administer medications and treatments, assist providers during examinations, and maintain accurate documentation to ensure continuity and excellence of care. Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques and protocols. Provide timely and accurate information to healthcare team members to support patient care. Assess, document, and evaluate patient conditions using the nursing process. Prepare equipment and assist providers with patient treatments and examinations. Develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of patient admission. Maintain fiscal responsibility by appropriately charging supplies and pharmacy items. Adhere to legal and ethical standards, including obtaining necessary consents and practicing within the Nurse Practice Act framework. Participate in orientation, staff meetings, in-service trainings, and special projects. Adapt to changes in the work environment and foster teamwork and trust among colleagues. Education and Experience Graduation from an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor's degree preferred. At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting preferred. One or more years of recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience preferred. Licenses and Certifications Current and unrestricted nursing license in the applicable state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles. Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to patient care. Respect for patient privacy and adherence to HIPAA standards. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office products. Ability to organize, prioritize, and document work accurately and legibly. Work Environment This part-time position involves 12-hour night shifts within a 40-hour workweek.
