Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement, the Stroke Program Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, development, and ongoing oversight of the Stroke Program. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and evidence‑based clinical guidelines related to stroke care. The Stroke Program Manager collaborates closely with physicians, nursing staff, emergency services, rehabilitation teams, and ancillary departments to promote optimal outcomes for stroke patients across the entire continuum of care. The Stroke Program Manager also plays a key role in reducing avoidable readmissions by proactively engaging with stroke patients and their families, providing education, coordinating follow‑up care, monitoring recovery progress, and identifying high‑risk patients who may require additional support. This position involves continuous performance improvement activities, data analysis, staff education, and participation in interdisciplinary case reviews to maintain a high‑quality, patient‑centered stroke program. Required Licensures/Certifications Current Florida Nursing License (RN) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification Skills and Abilities (Expanded) Clinical Expertise: Demonstrates in‑depth knowledge of the physiological, psychological, and therapeutic needs of critically ill and neurologically compromised patients, including those experiencing acute stroke. Assessment & Critical Thinking: Strong ability to assess complex patient conditions, analyze clinical data, and make timely, evidence‑based decisions that support high‑quality patient outcomes. Program Leadership: Ability to develop, coordinate, and manage program initiatives, including policy development, compliance, performance improvement, and accreditation readiness. Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively educate staff, patients, and families, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care. Patient Education: Skilled in providing stroke‑specific education to patients and caregivers, including risk‑factor management, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and discharge planning strategies to reduce readmissions. Data Analysis & Reporting: Proficient in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting clinical data; capable of preparing reports, identifying trends, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet regulatory deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Joint Commission stroke certification standards, state and federal regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to stroke care. Experience Previous experience in stroke care preferred. Experience in critical care, emergency nursing, neurology, or quality improvement is highly beneficial.
