Job Summary and Qualifications As a Surgical Technician, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will assist in delivering safe and effective nursing care within the operating room. Your responsibilities may include direct patient care, scrubbing, assisting the surgeon, managing surgical room turnover, and collaborating with the Registered Nurse. Key Responsibilities: Exhibit the essential practical and technical skills required for a surgical technician as per the Association of Surgical Technologists. Prepare the operating room for surgery by organizing supplies, equipment, and instruments. Maintain surgical asepsis while handling instruments, sponges, sutures, and dressings. Facilitate quick turnover of the operating room between cases by disposing of waste and cleaning equipment. Set up for upcoming procedures by preparing equipment and ensuring all necessary items are available. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred). A minimum of one year experience in an operating room, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center. Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certifications are not acceptable).
