POSITION SUMMARY: The Corporate Compliance Manager supports and strengthens the organization's compliance program across a network of ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs). This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, CMS Conditions for Coverage, accreditation standards (e.g., AAAHC, Joint Commission), and HIPAA privacy requirements. The Manager works closely with ASC administrators, operation leaders, clinical leaders, revenue cycle teams, and corporate leadership to monitor compliance risks, ensure operational readiness, and promote a culture of safety, integrity, and regulatory excellence. Work Schedule: REMOTE-CENTRIC HYBRID (NASHVILLE, TN) ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: ASC Compliance Program Oversight: Implement and maintain a comprehensive compliance program tailored to ASCs. Develop, update, and enforce ASC compliance policies, SOPs, and standards to meet CMS, HIPAA, OIG, and corporate requirements. Monitor ASC-specific regulatory updates, industry trends, and best practices, assessing organizational impact. Regulatory Compliance: Monitor compliance with healthcare regulations including CMS, OIG, Conditions of Coverage, HIPAA, and state ASC requirements. Ensure adherence to OIG compliance program guidance. Policy Development & Oversight: Identify compliance policy gaps. Draft, review, and maintain compliance policies related to Corporate or ASCs compliance policies under the direction of the VP, Compliance. Risk Assessment & Auditing: Conduct compliance risk assessments focused on healthcare operations, billing, and privacy. Perform audits as needed to assess risks or to investigate a compliance or privacy reported concern. Training & Education: Assist with compliance training for clinical and administrative staff on HIPAA, fraud and abuse laws, false claims, and privacy practices. Assist with documentation of training completion and effectiveness. Provide onboarding compliance education for ASC administrators and clinical leaders. Incident Management & Reporting: Investigate compliance-related complaints and potential breaches of PHI that are reported through the hotline or compliance in-box with guidance from the VP, Compliance. Report findings to the VP, Compliance. Collaboration & Advisory: Stay current on healthcare regulatory changes and communicate updates to the corporate leadership, operations team and/or clinical team under the guidance of the VP, Compliance. Collaborate with departments to maintain strong compliance controls. Support due diligence and onboarding when new ASCs join the organization. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Analytical, communication, and investigative skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across clinical and operational teams. Ability to interpret and apply complex healthcare regulations. Investigative and auditing skills specific to ASCs. Excellent communication with clinicians, administrators, and executives. High attention to detail and time management. Professional integrity and ability to handle sensitive information discreetly. Education/Experience: Bachelor's or associate degree in health information management or related area. May substitute equivalent work experience. 3-5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, privacy, or regulatory affairs. Preferred: Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC).
