Position Summary The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician Scientist. This position will be at the Open Rank on the tenure track or variable track and will place a strong emphasis on research activities focused on infectious diseases. Responsibilities will include preparation of clinically relevant publications and application and securing of grant funding. This candidate will be directly involved in the education of medical students and residents while providing outstanding patient care to the children at North Carolina Children’s Hospital. Minimum Education And Experience Requirements MD or MD/PhD trained and Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience The ideal candidate will possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Preference will be shown for candidates with: (1) considerable interest in research; (2) extramural funding or potential to gain extramural funding.
