General Pool: Qualified candidates will be contacted by Human Resources for school of preference Part-time assignments, to cover before and after school crossing (1.5 hours daily, split shift) Job Description: To assist students at designated crosswalks who are arriving or departing from a school site in an orderly and safe manner. Employment Standards: Knowledge of approved techniques and methods of youth supervision Ability to read and write at a level sufficient to perform required duties Ability to learn District rules and regulations pertaining to student behavior and conduct on campus Ability to understand and carry out instructions Ability to analyze situation accurately and adopt effective course of action Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgement in dealing with students Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job. Working Conditions and Abilities : Indoor/outdoor environment Ability to sustain hot/cold temperatures; comfortable working in varying weather conditions Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to bend, twist, kneel and stoop. Physical dexterity, with ability to operate computer keyboard and other office machines. Physical agility to lift, carry, push, pull up to five pounds on a regular basis and up to 15 pounds occasionally. Ability to reach in all directions.
