Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM • Every other weekend requirement • Nurse to patient ratios of 1:4, or 1:3 for post-surgical patients in first 24 hours • Work on 18-bed Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS • 1 year of experience with stepdown patient population required • Must pass 90% open book exam on Friday during orientation or contract will be terminated • Care for patients requiring intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients • Support thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart procedures • Common diagnoses include CVAs, CHF, A fib RVR, and cardiac/vascular related conditions • Required to titrate drips including Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, and blood pressure medications • Must read and interpret telemetry strips • Float to all same level and lower acuity units • Navy blue scrub color required • Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination • 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation tailored to needs and experience • Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities • Driver's license required at submittal • Use EPIC charting system Facility: This Level 1 Trauma Center operates as a comprehensive medical facility providing advanced cardiovascular care and critical services.
