We are seeking a dedicated Hematologist/Oncologist for a 238-day locum tenens assignment in New Mexico, starting Jun 1, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and consultation services, including patient evaluations, ordering laboratory studies, and performing procedures such as bone marrow biopsies. The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday, from 0800 to 16:30, with responsibilities extending to supervising midlevel providers and participating in tumor board meetings. Responsibilities and Duties Serve as the attending physician for inpatient, outpatient, and consultation services in Hematology/Oncology. Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations, and order relevant laboratory studies. Supervise and assist midlevel providers and ancillary health personnel in patient evaluation and management. Perform procedures such as arterial punctures, bone marrow biopsies, fluid collection, and localized abscess material acquisition. Initiate, monitor, and discontinue acute hemodialysis treatment, including CRRT and standard renal replacement therapies. Evaluate patients and prescribe treatments in the Chemo Infusion Unit. Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside or in the clinic setting. Participate in call schedules and attend Tumor Board/Cancer Committee meetings. Provide discharge education and follow up instructions coordinated with the next care setting.
