Job Type Full-time, Part-time Description Palo Alto Swim and Sport is offering an exciting opportunity to lead the Jr. Lifeguard Camp Summer Program. The position is responsible for teaching basic Lifeguard skills at the appropriate level for Jr. Lifeguard campers. You must be able to engage and interact well with children between 9 and 14 years of age. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead campers to ensure safe, well-run activities for children in a fun environment Know the daily activities; keep to the schedule for each activity or game Initiate and suggest new activities that would be fun and enhance campers' experience Set up and clean up camp each day in a safe, efficient, and cooperative manner Promote safe behavior among all campers, and assure the highest standards of safety Be a professional and responsible representative of the company Promote and demonstrate safe Lifeguarding practices Other duties as assigned Perks/Benefits Starting wage is $19 per hour Paid training Flexible schedule: multiple weeks and shift opportunities to choose from Fun, supportive, and team-oriented work environment Outdoor environment Commuter and public transportation-friendly locations Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Current certification in Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Lifeguard Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Camp Counselor, or working with groups of children in some other capacity Must be self-disciplined, responsible, alert, assertive, courteous, and professional behavior Must have excellent communication skills and be punctual Must be able to commit to at least 4 week-long shifts Monday-Friday Salary Description $19-24 per hour
