Core Responsibilities
50% HR General Consulting
As HR Consultant, you are responsible for developing and maintaining HR programs and policies, ensuring HR operational excellence and compliance for sustainable business growth and building the world’s best workplace incorporating the LEGO values.
- Regularly review and update HR programs and policies, including employee handbooks, to ensure they meet compliance and audit requirements
- Oversee adherence to labor laws, including managing time & attendance, employee committees, labor audits, and maintaining HR-related reports and documentation
- Collaborate with the regional HR/BSO colleagues and maintain operational excellence and compliance throughout the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, termination, promotions, leave and data management
- Oversee employee benefits programs and provide professional advice to the regional Benefit Manager, maintaining compliance with regulations
- Lead coordination and administration of the rewards program and the annual salary review cycle
- Be responsible for administration and payroll documentation
- Support HRBP/Site Lead on Employee Relations case management
- Support HRBP and the regional People Partnering team in various HR related projects
50% Employee Service Operations (ESO)
As ESO Specialist, you are responsible for delivering a consistent service to all the customers of the Business Service Operations (BSO). This means to meet the customers’ expectations and provide them with a top professional service, incorporating the LEGO values.
- Driving regional project transitions, supporting new market adoptions, and contributing to operational excellence while maintaining global process standardization.
- Defining and documenting Hire-to-Retire processes, including the development and maintenance of process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Administering and providing subject matter expertise across HR services within Benefits, Learning, and Time & Attendance, ensuring accurate and timely execution of administrative tasks within the current and evolving scope.
- Proactively identifying improvement opportunities and recommending solutions based on insights, trends, and operational needs.
- Creating and maintaining knowledge databases and documentation to ensure consistent processes, accurate guidance, and sustained service excellence.
- Mentoring and supporting team members, contributing to capability development and fostering a collaborative team environment.

The People Partnering is a Global HR organization, fostering employee growth, enabling business transformation and bringing the LEGO brand values into life. Japan People Partnering team primarily serves for Sales & Marketing offices based in Japan.
Japan People Partnering belongs to APAC regional People Partnering team, including HR Business Partners, Benefit Manager, ER Manager and HR Operations.
The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center that delivers HR and Finance services to the entire LEGO Group from 3 locations; Monterrey, Kladno and Singapore. The purpose of the BSO is to create an effective and efficient platform for growth to support our strategy and reach twice as many kids over the next 5-7 years.
As part of the LEGO People Partnering and BSO, you will be part of a top professional environment where the focus is on quality, learning and collaboration.
Do you have what it takes?
- Minimum 5 years of employee relations experience, including HR policies management and ER case management
- Solid understanding of Hire to Retire processes, Japan labour law, APAC HR policies and legislation (knowledge in time & attendance is a plus)
- Proven track record of strong regional stakeholder management with good business acumen
- A team player with high interpersonal, communication, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Proficient in MS office, interest in Artificial Intelligence/ Automation
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Professional proficiency in both English and Japanese is required for effective communication in Japan
