Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, reliable Teen Respite Provider to support a teenager who experiences emotional regulation challenges and occasional aggressive behaviors. The ideal candidate will have experience with de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed care, and the ability to remain calm and supportive during heightened emotional situations. This role provides short-term supervision and support to ensure the teen’s safety and well-being while offering caregivers scheduled relief. Pay: $17.66/Hour or $256/day Hours: 10 per week, occasional overnights Location: Bloomer, WI Key Responsibilities • Provide one-on-one respite care in your home and/or community • Support the teen during periods of emotional distress using verbal de-escalation and calming strategies • Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful environment • Model appropriate coping skills and emotional regulation techniques • Redirect behavior using positive behavior support strategies • Assist with daily activities as appropriate (meals, homework, leisure activities) • Monitor for triggers and early warning signs of escalation • Follow established behavior support plans and safety protocols • Communicate effectively with caregivers regarding behaviors, progress, and concerns • Document incidents or notable behaviors as required Required Qualifications • Experience working with teens who exhibit aggression, emotional dysregulation, or behavioral challenges • Demonstrated knowledge of de-escalation techniques (verbal calming, redirection, emotional validation) • Ability to remain calm, patient, and non-reactive during challenging situations • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Dependable, punctual, and professional • Ability to follow behavior plans and caregiver instructions Schedule & Environment • Flexible, part-time hours • Includes weekends and/or overnights • Primarily in your home support; some community-based activities possible Why This Role Matters Make a real difference by helping a child feel safe, supported, and seen.
