How you’ll make an impact:
The Platform Engineering team is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to further its mission of empowering SiriusXM engineers to create, deliver, and operate high quality software quickly, securely, reliably, and cost-effectively. We are responsible for defining and implementing the overall company-wide cloud strategy and providing an internal developer platform consisting of the configuration, tooling, and best practices related to foundational account infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, container orchestration, observability and incident management, and overall developer experience. The Senior Technical Product Manager will be the second product management hire as we build the technology foundation for the next generation of products across all our brands including SiriusXM, Pandora, and Stitcher. One of our key organizational principles is “platform as a product,” recognizing that our developer platform should be treated as a set of products offered to our thousand-plus internal customers, rather than a running backlog of technical support requests. The perfect fit for this role is someone excited about driving that approach as we build a low-friction, highly productive platform for our users.
What you’ll do:
- Report to the Platform Engineering product lead
- Contribute to the org-wide product strategy
- Own prioritization and the roadmap for one or more Platform Engineering domains
- Define product requirements and articulate them to teams and stakeholders
- Interact with our customers to gather input and feedback and conduct user research
- Help define, track, and review key metrics related to the success of our platform initiatives
- Stay abreast of industry trends and propose adoption of new technologies and techniques
- Build strong relationships with teams across engineering, product, finance, and more
- Become a subject matter expert and evangelist for the platform
What you’ll need:
- 3+ years of experience in a technical role in software development organizations, including at least 1 year as a product manager
- Strong product management skills
- Ability to articulate technical concepts and requirements to audiences with varying roles and degrees of technical understanding
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Extra credit:
- Experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE, or similar technical role
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, devops methodology, and internal developer platforms
- Experience working with teams operating in a cloud-based (AWS, GCP, Azure) environment
- Experience with AWS
- Experience managing the roadmap for products whose users are internal to the company
- Experience with Datadog
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $113,900.00 to $170,900.00 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
