About the LocationOnsite Position:
This position is considered to be Fully Onsite, work is to be done onsite at a PetSmart location (Phoenix Home Office, PetSmart stores, Merchandise Development Center, Distribution Centers or another PetSmart site). This role is based in our Ennis, TX Distribution Center.
About the JobThe Asset Protection and Safety Business Partner supporting Distribution Centers plays a crucial role in guiding, supporting and auditing facility operations and processes to ensure high EHS and Food Safety compliance standards in our operations, culture and outcomes while driving growth and productivity for PetSmart.
- This role is based in our Ennis, TX Distibution Center.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership, guidance, education, and problem-solving in:
- environmental health & safety and food safety compliance
- loss prevention, security and investigative functions
- Ensuring regulatory compliance with FDA, FSMA, FSCA and OSHA standards.
- Managing continuous improvement, assessment and implementation of EHS Programs and regulatory standards
- Mitigating inventory losses through asset protection measures.
- Investigating and addressing associate safety and product quality concerns.
- Continuous verification of preventive controls to safeguard our brand's value and product quality.
- Asset Protection including Security, CTPAT, and Crisis Management
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years or relevant experience in distribution center or manufacturing leadership.
- Bachelor’s Degree in fields like Food Science, Microbiology, Health & Safety, or related areas (preferred).
- Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification highly desirable.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and OSHA standards, Certified Safety Professional, OSHA 30-hr DOL General Industry Card (preferred).
- Wicklander Zulawski or similar investigation certification (preferred)
- Familiarity with FEMA or similar style incident/risk management practices (preferred).
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
- Proven and effective problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, investigations case management systems, SharePoint applications and other relevant computer programs.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Occasional lifting and moving of products up to 60 lbs.
- Regular standing, walking, and manual handling tasks.
- Ability to operate equipment like ladders, cherry pickers, reach trucks, etc.
- Specific vision requirements including close, distance, and peripheral vision.

Work Environment:
- This role is based in our Ennis, TX Distibution Center.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and dusty conditions.
- Potential loud noise levels and extreme temperatures.
- Possibility of exposure to hazardous materials.
- Specific conditions may vary based on department, such as exposure to water and aquatic animals in the Fish Department.
