IGS is currently recruiting for a remote SAS Grid and Viya Systems Administrator to support the Department of Veterans Affairs.
This highly skilled and experienced SAS Grid and Viya Systems Administrator will manage and optimize the VA program’s SAS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise as a SAS Grid Manager, SAS Viya, and associated tools, with a strong focus on constrained delegation, ACL management, and hybrid cloud environments. Additionally, knowledge of SAS Enterprise Miner and proficiency in R coding are essential for this role. This position requires experience in Unix/Linux environments with SAS technologies to ensure seamless integration and performance across on-premises and cloud-based systems.
Assignment of Work and Travel:
This is a remote access assignment. Candidates will work remotely daily and will remotely access VA systems and therein use approved VA provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.
Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):
1. SAS Grid Management:
- Administer and configure SAS Grid Manager up to version 9.4 in Linux/Unix environments.
- Manage and optimize workload distribution using SAS Workload Orchestrator, including the transition from LSF to SAS Workload Orchestrator in SAS Viya.
2. Kerberos Constrained Delegation:
- Implement and configure Kerberos constrained delegation with LSF, ensuring secure and efficient delegation across the SAS environment.
3. SAS Viya Administration:
- Oversee SAS Viya and SAS Viya Workbench in a hybrid environment, integrating on-premises infrastructure with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Utilize tools like Pyviyatools for Viya administration and automation tasks.
4. Access Control and Security:
- Manage Access Control Lists (ACLs) in Unix and SAS environments to enforce security and access policies.
- Configure SAS Management Console to handle user permissions and metadata management.
5. Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor SAS Grid and CAS servers using CAS Server Monitor and other relevant tools to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Studio, and other SAS web applications.
6. Web Application Delegation:
- Configure and delegate accounts for SAS Metadata Server and SAS Object Spawner to ensure proper access and functionality for SAS web applications.
7. SAS Enterprise Miner:
- Administer and support SAS Enterprise Miner for advanced analytics and data mining tasks.
8. R Coding:
- Utilize R for data analysis and integration with SAS systems, leveraging R coding skills to enhance data processing and reporting capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive experience with SAS Grid Manager (version 9.4) and SAS Viya in Unix/Linux environments.
- Proven expertise in constrained delegation with Kerberos, including configuration and management.
- Familiarity with ACLs in Unix and SAS environments.
- Hands-on experience with SAS Management Console, Pyviyatools, CAS Server Monitor, SAS Enterprise Guide, and SAS Studio.
- Proficiency in R coding for data analysis and integration.
- Experience with SAS Enterprise Miner for advanced analytics.
- Experience managing hybrid environments integrating on-premises and Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a SAS environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust security clearance.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a remote environment with a workspace free of distractions and interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:
- Certification or training in SAS technologies and cloud-based solutions.
- Experience with custom data modelling in SAS is preferred.
- Experience with additional SAS web applications and tools.
- Knowledge of advanced security practices and compliance standards.
- Active VA Public Trust security clearance
