Sr. Product Manager, Recommendations
Enterprise Retail Client

100% Remote
About The Role
In this role you are responsible for leading the strategy to deliver quality products across the digital experience (Desktop, Mobile Web, and App) within the Recommendations domain. This role coordinates among business stakeholders, software developers, technical engineers, designers, data analysts, third party vendors, and other functional subject matter experts to create a comprehensive and holistic roadmap that addresses both short term and long-term needs to power a best-in-class recommendations experience for our iconic brands.
What You'll Do
- Define the Recommendations experience product roadmap by working with your product management counterparts and leaders to identify and drive forward new capabilities.
- Write robust requirements, prioritize the backlog, and work closely with the engineering teams to deliver and test quality software.
- Develop and manage project plans and key stakeholder engagement strategy on all initiatives.
- Build relationships with key business partners and other brand stakeholders; articulate product needs clearly and succinctly to different audiences and cross-functional partners.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of industry trends and standards to introduce continual process, tool, and methodology improvements.
- Identify, measure, and interpret results to validate product strategy; provide research, analysis, and support for identifying, evaluating, and resolving strategic opportunities.
- Influence strategy for area/team.
- Forecast ROI, regularly report on product performance post-launch, drive product adoption, and lead the vision for the optimization plan.
Who You Are
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing platforms, APIs, and/or complex technical customer capabilities.
- Experience working with large software engineering teams both within and outside of your domain.
- Experience building zero to one complex products.
- Demonstrated technical acumen; ability to influence and debate solutions with technical team members, to understand technology solutions and potential tradeoffs, and to represent technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Ability to assess relatively complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions.
- Sound knowledge of concepts and procedures specific to own subject area and a basic understanding of the procedures in other relevant areas.
- Expert knowledge of the digital landscape as well as strong familiarity with competitors and other eCommerce websites to understand trends and best practices within the recommendations domain.
- Experience partnering with third party vendors to drive strategic ideation sessions, roadmap capabilities, and all required technical integrations across the Gap landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt tactics and strategies to fast-moving, rapidly evolving marketplace required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a product manager owning technical backend products working in a modern software development-based enterprise environment.
