The Chief of Staff to the Head of CTO Infrastructure requires wearing many hats. You bring your technical background to help the CTO Infrastructure team facilitate conflict resolution, deal with major strategic challenges, and represent leadership when they’re unavailable.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who can provide strategic thought leadership and lead projects with limited guidance. You must have a high level of attention to detail and, given a high-level goal, direct a team of senior leaders to develop a strategy and execute it. Your communication skills are polished and top-notch: whether distilling information into slides, writing memos, or engaging in 1-on-1 conversations with senior leaders. You relish the opportunity to impact both strategic and tactical initiatives, ensuring past lessons inform future outcomes.
We will trust you to:
- Be the right-hand person and trusted advisor for the head of CTO Infrastructure, representing their interests in various forums.
- Act as the trusted delegate of the head of CTO Infrastructure, ensuring that departmental operations move smoothly whether or not they are present.
- Identify opportunities to improve departmental operations and drive strategic initiatives.
- Build strong partnerships with administrative and operations members of the team.
- Manage the success of communication pipelines, promoting departmental strategy and outcomes.
You’ll need to have:
- 5+ years of experience in a technical strategic leadership role working directly with senior leaders.
- Experience in an engineering role.
- Experience operating through influence; direct people management experience is a plus.
- A consistent track record of managing multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
- Comfort working independently, developing clear strategies and vision.
- Demonstrated polished written and oral communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in a technology company.
We’d love to see:
- Experience with both strategic infrastructure technology development and lifecycle.
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial, able to find innovative solutions to problems.
- Information security experience, especially exposure to operational programs.
- Prior experience as a chief of staff in a multi-layered, functional organization.
