Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President (VP)Institutional Donor Engagement steers a vision of partnership withkey donor communities, and promotes the public profile, brandrecognition, and voice of Mercy Corps while championing its workacross the globe. They are responsible for developing and executinga global business development strategy to maintain productiverelationships with, and build revenue from existing institutionaldonors, including key North American and European governments,while expanding and diversifying the portfolio of institutionaldonors beyond these two entities. As the head of an integratedInstitutional Donor Engagement department, the VP ensuresconsistent practices across institutional donor engagement andexecutive-level visibility into institutional fundraising andbusiness development efforts.
The VP, Institutional Donor Engagement is a visionary tactician,able to see the big picture and establish broad strategy whilebeing attentive to individual regional, country and program needsand constraints. They understand the geo-political dynamics of theregions/countries and the drivers of fragility. They are a skilledcommunicator, able to develop and grow strong relationships withstaff, partners and donors and inspire others to act, and canleverage the credibility that Mercy Corps carries within the sectorto strengthen and expand our existing partnerships with governmentand institutional donors and build on opportunities for partnershipwith additional institutional donors, as well as other relevantstakeholders, for expanded growth.

Living Conditions / Environment Conditions The position is based in Washington, DC, London, or The Hague inthe Netherlands. Some travel may be required, up to 30% travel tosupport country programs, which may include travel to insecurelocations where freedom of movement is limited and areas whereamenities are limited. Mercy Corps Team members represent theagency both during and outside of work hours when deployed in afield posting or on a visit/short term assignment to a fieldposting. Staff are expected to conduct themselves in a professionalmanner and respect local laws, customs and MC's policies,procedures, and values at all times and in all in-countryvenues.
Salary Range The estimated salary is $230,000 USD for US markets, £145,000 forUK, or €160,000 for Netherlands.
