This is a Hybrid (2x a week in office) or Remote role. Preference will be given to hybrid candidates as this is a leadership role, but all applications will be taken into fair consideration.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Finance will report directly to our CEO (Kirti) and play a key role in owning multiple high-level finance projects for Zeal. The Head of Finance will oversee the treasury and accounting functions; managing day-to-day operations, financial reporting, and the creation of internal control policies and procedures. This is a great role for someone who wants to grow into a CFO in the near future since you will have full autonomy and ownership over existing and new finance-related projects at a rapidly growing fintech.
A good match would be someone who is comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and doesn’t mind wearing multiple hats while contributing to cross-functional teams (tax and payments) and external vendors to help Zeal achieve even greater heights!
SOME THINGS YOU MAY BE WORKING ON
- Own all of Zeal’s auditing/financial functions, where you will build corporate accounting, bookkeeping, balance sheet, P&L, financial audits, accounts receivable, accounts payable.
- Be the main point of contact internally for all finances and audits here at Zeal.
- Build out financial programs for internal and special projects; owning documentation, training, etc. for these programs.
- Work with tax and payment leaders to distill and distinguish Zeal’s Treasury Management products and systems.
- Work with internal and external legal and compliance teams to launch new financial product initiatives at Zeal.
YOU HAVE
- 5+ years experience as a senior-level accounting leader in a high-growth, SaaS business.
- CPA credentialing.
- Comfortable acting as a signatory for Zeal (fingerprinting, background checks, and certifying audits).
- Past experiences in full-cycle auditing/financial function building: corporate accounting, bookkeeping, balance sheet, P&L, financial audits, accounts receivable, accounts payable.
- Experience working with external financial and legal agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.
- Experience in a high-growth company establishing accounting processes and technology.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while simultaneously meeting goals and deadlines.
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Banking or fintech experience.
- Treasury management and reconciliation.

OUR COMPENSATION & PHILOSOPHY
The range for this role is between $145,000 and $170,000 for California-based candidates.
