TECH DETAILS: 7 Petabytes of Data, 2000 servers (both Virtual and Physical), Windows environment
SUMMARY:
Looking for a Director of IT to be responsible for overseeing the organization’s internal IT operations, ensuring they align with corporate objectives. The Director of IT manages the company’s technology infrastructure (networks, data centers, etc.) and the IT services that support business operations and service delivery. This includes responsibility for ensuring the integrity, availability, security of data and IT systems, cybersecurity, compliance with regulations, and data privacy standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides expert guidance, direction and leadership in regard to a company’s selection and use of technologies.
- Leads an organization’s IT function.
- Determines long-term needs and pursues purchases and contracts that will aid in accomplishing business objectives.
- Responsible for budgeting, strategic planning and forecasting.
- Reports to the Chief Technology Officer.
- Manages others and oversees IT security for the company.
- Track projects and other company initiatives to their successful conclusions.
- Develop policies and procedures governing IT purchases, issues, and infrastructure.
- Responsible for vendor management including periodic auditing.
- Able to formulate and follow through long term strategic projects.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE):
- 10+ years’ experience and/or bachelor’s degree in IT or related fields.
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills a must.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Demonstrated strategic mindset with an emphasis in IT.
SOFT SKILLS:
- Professional, pleasant and patient in demeanor.
- High degree of professionalism and ability to work with nominal supervision.
- Must be flexible, prioritize workload, and have strong attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels.
- Ability to develop, engineer, and manage entire IT department.
