This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.
We are looking for a Vice President, Head of Accounts Payable (“AP”) and Travel and Entertainment (“T&E”) to join the Corporate Finance leadership team. This role will ultimately report to the Chief Accounting Officer & Global Controller and lead alignment of the AP and T&E teams. You will be responsible for leading, implementing and delivering accurate and efficient management reporting of expenses and providing strategic guidance in operations. The position will interact with multiple teams including Accounting, Treasury, Tax and Corporate Vendor Management on operational and finance initiatives and with Technology and Enterprise Continuous Improvement (“ECI”) on platform implementations. The role’s success will be dependent on the individual’s ability to drive operational improvements, automation, and partner effectively across the Firm.
The ideal candidate is someone who has:
- A background in the AP, T&E and Procurement functions
- Experience leading a global travel & corporate card program
- An agile and critical thinker who is able to troubleshoot complex issues
- Has a proven track record of delivering implementation of technology platforms
- Able to partner effectively across a matrixed and global organization
- Can synthesize and present materials to different audience members across the Firm with impact and effectiveness
- Is interested in continuous improvement and operational excellence
What you will do:
- Implement a new AP and T&E technology platform for the firm with a change management strategy and plan
- Lead a team in standardizing and streamlining AP and T&E processes including end-to-end design and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the appropriate controls and processes are in place in order to mitigate risks
- Operate in a continuous improvement environment including implementation of procure-to-pay and expense allocations solutions
- Partner with Corporate Finance, Investment Accounting and Compliance on allocations between Firm and Funds
- Launch a global travel and corporate card program
What you bring:
- A track record in leading and transforming AP and/or T&E teams at a global company
- Experience leading teams with diverse skills, experience and perspectives
- Leadership experience in implementing platforms with effective organizational change
- Solid understanding in both operations and reporting
- Experience in SAP Concur, Oracle and/or Workday platforms for AP and T&E
- Knowledge of expense allocations for financial services firms
- Advanced Excel and Presentation skills with experience in analytical tools preferred (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Exceptional written and verbal communications across all levels of an organization
Education Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Technology or Business
- Completion of a CFA and/or MBA a plus
Experience
- 15+ Years in AP, T&E or Financial Reporting and Operations environment preferred
