Role Summary
We believe travel is a force for good, and our mission is to power global travel for everyone, everywhere. Our mobile apps are essential in delivering seamless, personalized travel experiences to millions of travelers worldwide. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an established people leader to drive our mobile app's growth and retention (MAU). Our goal is to build out a best-in-class team of engineers, passionate about developing a centralized platform that could be maximized for providing contextually relevant recommendations and notifications for partners and travelers on Expedia Group across both Web and App.
Who you are:
A People leader who will lead a larger team of engineers (~6-10 people) or smaller teams of approximately similar size. Delivers work for defined domains and expands scope and feature set for those areas. Collaborates with management and product to balance the needs of team wellbeing, features, and system maintenance and operation.
Experience:
8+ years for Bachelor's; 6+ years for Master's; 3+ years in People Management.
Functional/Technical Skills:
• Strong in multiple technologies or languages.
• Justifies technology choices to technical and non-technical observers.
• Responsible for multiple technical domains.
• Mentors team members and works with multiple teams.
• Defines team goals and how they fit a business need across multiple teams working together.
What you'll do:
• Anticipates and recognizes bottlenecks in work processes and makes suggestions for improvement.
• Leads implementation teams and ensures the successful execution of new ideas or approaches.
• Develops product phase-out planning in line with the product roadmap.
• Partners with the business to have a clear understanding of how the technology stack is tied to business outcomes.
• Advocates for operational excellence, such as unit testing and programming for resiliency and scalability.
Compensation:
The total cash range for this position in San Francisco is $184,500.00 to $258,000.00, with the potential to increase based on performance.
