Position Summary
The Manager Business Analytics is responsible for managing a team of business analysts and building partnerships with Epic, Operations, and the Clinical teams, at the MFA. The manager develops the overarching strategy that drives the work of the analysts, specifically in the areas of reporting and analytics, with a strong focus on driving revenue cycle management performance. The Manager of Business Analytics reports to the Sr. Director, Revenue Cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain responsibility for the development and management of data analysis models to support strategic decision-making, cost management and value-based care initiatives.
- Partner with clinical and operations teams to develop action plans to improve revenue cycle management performance.
- Establish the metrics for measuring the progress of current initiatives and projection of financial performance.
- Develop trend modeling and reporting that reflects the impact of clinical programs and contract changes on revenue cycle management performance.
- Partner with the Sr. Director of Revenue Cycle to analyze and improve revenue processes.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to assess the need for business metrics and dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
- Establish consistent and repeatable processes to improve revenue cycle management performance.
- Promote a culture of critical thinking to inform critical decision-making in collaboration with executive directors and clinical leadership.
- Develop executive presentations to provide updates regarding the status of current initiatives and explaining analytical findings.
- Provide mentorship to business analysts.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management and business analysis, preferably within healthcare.
- Minimum of three years working with and understanding the Epic suite of analytical tools.
- Minimum of three years of project management experience gathering analysis and documentation.
- Minimum of five years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to constantly stand, walk, reach outward, and apply manual dexterity in an office setting.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 100 lbs. as part of the role.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment.
