Summary: Manager, Business Analytics
The Business Analytics Manager for Strategy & Enablement will lead our growing team of data analytics experts, focused on ensuring the effective and efficient measurement of strategic business initiatives. Their team will perform exploratory data analysis and modeling with a focus on delivering insights and measurement to business leaders across the organization. While their primary focus will center on breaking new ground on business initiatives, their expertise will set the stage for best-in-class standards deployed across other analytics organizations for daily business management.
In this role, you will lead the people and processes responsible for accurate data collection, processing, modeling, and analysis of strategic business initiatives. You will work closely with leaders across the enterprise including product, sales, and marketing to support and implement high-quality, data-led decisions, leading to exceptional business outcomes. You will also ensure data accuracy and consistent insight delivery by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for our Analytics teams.
Responsibilities
- Work both as a leader and independently to structure analyses and develop insights.
- Build alignment for goals of strategic initiatives and propose measurement frameworks that support a deeper understanding of how those initiatives will be reviewed and understood from a quantitative perspective.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments and teams based on trust and mutual respect. Communicate with senior stakeholders to balance stakeholder and analytics perspectives and expectations.
- Present compelling, validated stories to all levels of organization, including peers, senior leadership, and cross-functional partners to drive both strategic and operational outcomes in our business units.
- Recruit, train, develop and supervise analyst-level employees. Fostering an inclusive environment that is a destination for advanced analytic talent.
- Oversee the technical quality of your team’s deliverables and ensure they adhere to expectations for excellence.
- Develop a deep understanding of analytics and data tools and how our analysts are using them, providing recommendations on better utilization opportunities.
- Be able to provide necessary assistance and guidance on tool best practices, educating the greater analytics community at Covetrus.
- Manage modeling processes from end-to-end including data gathering, data validation, model building, calibration, cross-validation, and maximizing model accuracy.
Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree required; computer science, finance or data analytics preferred; additional advanced degree or technical degree preferred
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in mix of data engineering, data architecture and/or advanced analytics roles
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a high performing data analytics team
Competencies (skills And Abilities)
- Use the latest analytics and visualization tools, such as Alteryx, SQL, R, Python, and Tableau to formulate and track strategic opportunities in partnership with analytic teams across the company.
- Experience accessing, extracting, and analyzing information from a variety of data warehouse sources (MySQL, Redshift, Google Analytics, and Snowflake).
- Proven ability to initiate, lead and deliver analytic projects.
- Strong candidates will have a curious mind, a passion for synthesizing information from multiple sources, the ability to interpret data through the lens of customer behavior, and a habit of translating data into insights that drive action.
- Strong business aptitude, the ability to rapidly learn new problem domains, and become conversant in the domain with subject matter experts.
- Experience acting as a Data-Connector, someone who can work technically and communicate with non-technical business owners on requirements and outcomes.
Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location.
However, the pay range for this position is as follows.
$102,400.00 - $190,100.00
