Job Summary
- Plans, directs, develops, and coordinates all sales related activities to accomplish revenue goals and market penetration for the assigned zone.
- Also responsible for the attainment of overall department objectives.
- Acts as the agent advocate for recommending appropriate new products, services and field initiatives.
- Coordinates field facing activities, programs and promotions and works with all appropriate personnel to ensure business unit needs and desired objectives are meet.
- Driving sales and profit execution within an assigned geographic territory through coordinated strategic alignments.
- Travels across Eastern and Central US states.
Essential Job Functions
- Develops, implements and manages related short, mid and long-term zone objectives, strategies, actions and budgets for implementation in the assigned zone.
- Reviews quarterly updates on accomplishment of regional objectives and makes necessary revisions to accomplish stated goals.
- Evaluates and develops field force objectives and plans for accomplishment to assure goals are achieved.
- Assists with the development of District Managers and Agency development plans for commercial growth initiatives and deployment of agent segmentation strategy in collaboration with Service Center operations.
- Plans and assists in the communication, identification of target markets and redirection efforts of the following (but limited to): training, sales/marketing support, research, sales promotion efforts to develop markets and stimulate profitable sales growth in the zone.
- Responsible for formulating sales/marketing plans.
- Oversees the regular, clear, concise and consistent communication to executive management, Territory Heads, ASMs, ADSSs, District Managers and the agency force.
- Responsible for the successful communication and training for all rate and product changes and for identifying market trends and use of quantitative knowledge to affect future products and rate changes.
- Works with designated business partners, such as marketing and training functions, to develop training and education materials.
- Creates and recommends training, policies, programs, and practices to ensure the development and adequate supply of trained sales personnel.
- Acts as a bridge for communication, both internally and external, between Business Insurance and other groups.
- Ensures understanding of technology in sales process to maximize effectiveness of field personnel.
- Actively involved in process and systems to help grow the business by using various processes, such as Agile.
- Maintains current knowledge and understanding of all competitive activity within assigned zone and understands the industry as it relates to agencies, customers and suppliers.
- Assesses industry and demographic trends to compare current products with new opportunities and determine best way to implement such opportunities.
- Plans, directs, develops, and coordinates all sales related activities to accomplish revenue goals and market penetration for the assigned zone.

- Develops and manages variable incentive plans within the assigned zone.
- Promote agency sales contests and actively manages sales programs and tracks as well as reports progress to business unit management on a regular basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Attainment of or actively pursuing a major insurance designation preferred.
Experience Requirements
- 7-10 years experience in a Marketing and/or Sales management position or comparable industry experience required.
- 1-3 years Commercial Insurance experience preferred.

- Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.

- This position operates in an open office working environment which will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.
