The ASDC Project Manager will take over key logistical and operational support pieces for both the Best Practices Institute and the broader ASDC, reporting to the ASDC Deputy Executive Director with duties additionally assigned by ASDC Executive Director and BPI Training Director.
While job duties will not be limited to purely administrative functions – political, communications, and operations expertise are very much needed to succeed in this role – ensuring the ASDC team has the bandwidth to support all 57 State Democratic Parties through this historic election cycle is the most crucial metric of success for this position.

Responsibilities: - Operations Support - Internal
- Creating and monitoring the completion of lists, documents, and trackers – including following up with staff as needed
- Attend and provide written report-outs on Department Coordinators meetings
- Preparing meeting agenda and other documents
- Managing meeting notes, including assigning rotating note-takers
- Staff and run all Zoom meetings
- Operations Support - External
- Own and manage calendar invitations and zoom / google meet links
- Lead certain external meetings e.g. one-off briefings with issue partners
- Provide logistical support for ASDC’s December meeting, including tracking hotel space changes, F+B, meeting materials, etc.
Training Support
- Update the BPI Victory Vault – including pulling lists, vetting, working with Help Desk on approvals, sending welcome emails to new members, and updating / organizing both new and existing content
- Updating the BPI Newsletter list
- Writing email communications for State Party staff and members, activists, and external partners
- Updating the State Party Jobs section of the DNC website
- Updating the Training Calendar
Communications
- Pull and compile clips and relevant political updates from each State Party on a daily basis; take charge of finalizing and submitting weekly reports
- Keep track of items for and provide drafting support with leadership scripts, future external meeting topics, etc.
- Regularly update ASDC new member information across all platforms
- Draft and send email blasts to the membership
- Support ASDC ED + Deputy ED in managing and tracking correspondence
Finance
- Assist with creating dues invoices, tracking payments received, outstanding invoice chase, and regular dues reports
- Processing checks, invoices, and reimbursement requests for leadership review
- Support the creation of regular budget and finance reports for leadership
- Support the creation of more defined finance and accounting procedures to help organize and optimize workflows in this area, including organizing both digital and hard-copy financial records
- Code American Express statements and other finance data entry as needed
Other Projects
- Lead updates to the ASDC page of the DNC website
- Work with BPI on building out the program for ASDC’s fall intern
- Create a social media plan for ASDC that can be executed at a high level during the election season and has a ramp-down plan for periods with fewer staff
Qualifications:- At least 3 cycles of experience with State Parties, campaigns, or political / partner / consulting organizations.
- Experience with Zoom, the full suite of Google tools, and ideally other specialized tools like VAN, MailChimp, etc.
- A strong command of social media and news sources.
- Exceptional verbal + written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to simultaneously manage multiple deadlines in a forward-thinking, solutions-oriented manner.

The ASDC Project Manager position will require travel, which could be up to 15% of the time. The starting salary for the is $78,500 salary, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of December 15, 2024.
