Job Description
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive merchant acquisition strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Identify target markets, key merchants, and potential partnerships.
- Merchant Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key merchants and partners. Negotiate terms and agreements to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes. Utilise insights to refine acquisition strategies and tactics.
- Team Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing merchant acquisition team. Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and finance, to ensure alignment and successful execution of merchant acquisition initiatives.
- Credit Card Programs: Oversee the integration of merchant acquisition efforts with credit card programs. Leverage credit card partnerships to enhance merchant offers and customer engagement.
- Compliance: Ensure all merchant acquisition activities comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
The Successful Applicant
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in merchant acquisition, business development, or a related field, with a focus on credit card programs.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the employee benefits and engagement industry. Familiarity with global market trends and competitive dynamics.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and execute effectively. Experience in developing and implementing successful acquisition strategies.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience with data-driven decision-making and performance metrics.
- Relationship Building: Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills. Ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships with merchants and stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
