The VP of Recruitment is responsible for managing a team of recruiters and developing sourcing plans for all roles—from entry to executive levels. He or she ensures a great candidate experience while meeting business goals and filling open positions. Ultimately, the VP of Recruitment will build a strong employer brand for Athena, creating strong talent pipelines for current and future job needs.
High-Level Responsibilities
Workforce Planning and Implementation Collaborates with C-level executives on workforce planning to meet business recruiting needs and ensures the organization stays informed on hiring trends, best practices, and employment-related data.
Talent Acquisition and Management Oversees the monitoring, resolving, and closing of capability gaps by analyzing data and suggesting solutions, ensuring a healthy talent pool for critical roles.
Data-Driven Decision Making Identifies, manages, and reports on recruiting, talent-related, and diversity metrics, transforming them into actionable business insights.
Specific Projects and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Executive leadership to establish a coordinated, comprehensive recruitment team with defined goals and consistent procedures to attract top talent.
- Align with Employer Branding, Marketing, and Communications teams to ensure brand standards and messaging are consistent with the Employee Value Proposition.
- Develop and implement a talent acquisition strategy to support a diversified workforce that drives Athena’s growth objectives.
- Partner with the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) to build relevant evaluation methodologies and tools for candidate assessment.
- Implement interview training programs to ensure interview teams conduct effective and compliant interviews.
- Continuously improve the EA talent acquisition lifecycle to provide an efficient experience for applicants and management.
- Oversee external technology and talent acquisition providers.
- Manage recruiting system tools and Athena’s career sites.
- Collaborate with the CLO and CFO to create and manage the annual talent acquisition budget.
- Foster a positive, high-performing environment by leading the talent acquisition team in alignment with company values.
- Offer direction to improve direct reports' performance continuously.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- 15+ years of experience in talent acquisition, including global high-volume sourcing, recruiting, and closing executive-level candidates.
- Ability to manage various responsibilities in a rapidly expanding multinational organization.
- Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, including strong listening, negotiation, persuasion, and facilitation abilities across all leadership levels.
- Strong customer-centric orientation.
- Extensive knowledge of multiple talent acquisition tools and platforms.
- Expertise in candidate sourcing, interviewing, and assessment.
- Ability to adapt to diverse cultures.
Additional Qualifications (Not Required but Preferred):
- Experience with start-ups and progressive companies.
- Experience in managing high-stress roles in a work-from-home environment.
- Expertise in OFCCP compliance and other U.S. regulatory requirements.
