Accounting Specialist (GL and Tax focus)
Assist in the preparation of Monthly Financial Reports, Annual Financial Statements and any other internal or external reports required, ensuring that they are completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. Develop new and streamline existing processes and systems as required to ensure more efficient delivery of value-add information to both internal and external stakeholders. Be an effective team player who will drive efficiency and continuous improvement throughout the department.
Key Responsibilities :
1.Performs a wide variety of general accounting functions, such as: preparation of journal entries and month-end closing activities; month-end/year-end schedules and other statistical reports
2.Prepares and updates the schedules & reports for Balance sheet accounts including AP Aging/Revaluation, AR Aging/ Revaluation, WHT Aging /Gain or Loss Report, FAR etc.
3.Performs daily bank reconciliations of payments and GL entries in foreign currency amount and then convert to local currency by applying appropriate month end rate. Any abnormal bank transactions should be localized and cleared
4.Calculation, posting and analysis of monthly accruals and prepayments, ensuring that all business transactions are accurately captured
5.Initiates payment to suppliers and employees via HSBCnet
6.Prepares and reviews the necessary schedules and documentation required in filing tax returns
7.Issuance of manual invoice and official receipts to customers/affiliates
8.Support in the migration of legacy system (Peoplesoft) to the new system (SAP)
9.Collaboration with external audit staff for periodic yearend review procedures and local statutory audits as required.
10.Perform ad hoc tasks as required
Your Profile Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy; CPA preferred but not required 3 - 5 years relevant experience Knowledge in SAP is highly preferred
