Contributes to the overall success of the GRM International Banking Retail and Small Business Credit Risk ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Development and maintenance of polished PowerBI dashboards by working with MIS teams to consolidate data, to ensure data quality and accuracy to support reporting for Executive Level consumption.
With a focus on automation, leverages SQL to automate existing and future reporting and data consolidation processes.
Coordinate and consolidate requests for new datasets, projects, and enhancements to existing reporting with local MIS and small business teams to validate, update and design new dashboard visualizations required for Executive Level reporting.
Develop a strong partnership with retail risk teams across all countries, to enable alignment to and GRM Retail strategy, risk appetite and global standards through portfolio monitoring tools and reporting.
Communicate risks, successes, challenges, concerns, opportunities to Portfolio Lifecycle Oversight Director, and prepare updates for Executive, government regulators, and other stakeholders. Provide forward looking analysis and prescriptive recommendations for all retail and small business portfolios.
Manage new and existing projects and priorities to ensure that delivery of polished dashboards and reporting by prescribed deadlines are met. Communicate issues and operational risks in advance to mitigate delays and to find and implement solutions where necessary.
Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Portfolio Oversight
Effective monitoring, analysis and report to Executive, and other stakeholders on country performance trends and results in relation to targets. Consider originations and portfolio trends and issues by product, channel, segment, and specific programs as developed from time to time.
Performs business analysis to respond to regulatory and business questions and provide insights.
Utilize and optimize local information, and MIS to gain understanding of BNS results and benchmark against limits where appropriate. Develop key performance indicators and early warnings across the life cycle to promptly identify emerging trends that can impact portfolio and originations quality performance.
Drive effective risk stewardship and acceptable risk-return opportunities by communicating risk appetite and strategic objectives, using policies, process and technology that can be leveraged across the organization to maximize profit, in consideration of the risk appetite of the Bank and country.
Identify, evaluate, review and oversee key performance indicators in support of originations initiatives for the consumer portfolio seeking alignment with the Bank's risk appetite.
Job Requirements:
Working knowledge of Risk Management, Collection Recovery, Customer Life Cycle.
Exposure to the projection of delinquency rates, loan loss provisions and recoveries
Strong financial analysis and written skills complemented with solid deductive reasoning, sound judgement and creativity
Strong negotiating and networking skills in conducting day to day activities
Must have experience working with SQL
Experience programming with Python or SAS or R is a strong asset
Experience working with Power BI is a strong asset
Fluency in English mandatory. Fluency in Spanish an asset
