You as a Construction Manager will:
Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s). Authorize/approve all project personnel transactions (hiring, transfers ,wages, etc.), purchase requisitions, change requests, etc. Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to. Interpret policies as required. Cost forecasting/contingency and cash allowance expenditures – Develop and maintain cost tracking (ledgers). Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required. Develop strategy to ensure project financial goals are achieved and to mitigate risk. Develop and maintain: Pre-construction schedule, baseline construction schedule, procurement schedule, commissioning schedule. Performance reviews – Conduct in timely manner, quality of feedback, provide guidance in creating development plans, proper follow-up and next steps. Communicate schedule and challenges effectively to the Client, subcontractors and project stakeholders. Internal Project Reviews (IPR) – Ability to adequately complete reports templates, conduct and assess. Assist in negotiation of claims/disputes with the owner and subs/suppliers. Participate in hiring and assigning of project teams. Ensure project safety standards and environmental programs are adhered to at all times.
Other Responsibilities
Coaching and development of the team. Demonstrate ability to provide frequent and constructive feedback to direct reports (both positive and negative). Active in the industry by Networking and participating in events, etc.
Is this the right role for you?
10+ years supervisory or equivalent experience in construction Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); company policies, procedures and standards, union jurisdiction, labor agreements and negotiations essential Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required Negotiation and problem solving skills Residential experience would be considered an asset. PMP designation would be considered an asset.
