DOING RIGHT BY PEOPLE – IT’S WHAT WE DO Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Manager, Talent Management plays a critical and integral role in driving areas within our talent strategy, including performance management, employee engagement, talent reviews, succession planning, and the oversight of our internal HR technologies, while influencing and leading the Talent Management team. The Manager will be responsible for building and implementing innovative talent management initiatives and programs to support Payworks’ people and culture priorities, and overall business strategy. You will work across functional and business teams to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of programs that accelerate our people’s ability to achieve and sustain a high-performance culture and differentiates us as a great place to work.
You have a proven record of accomplishment of setting and achieving targets and an ability to show how programs and policies have contributed to organizational growth. With your experience as an exemplary change agent, you will utilize your people and project management experience to plan, organize and execute large-scale projects.

SUPPORT OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCIES – IT’S WHAT YOU’LL DO Oversee the HR technology systems – As a strategic member of the Human Resources team, you will ensure the effective utilization of HR technology for performance management, engagement surveys, and talent reviews; as well as continuous improvements and advancements all while complying with employment laws and company policies.
Design and implement – You will oversee and execute the listening strategy, including the design and implementation of employee engagement surveys, as well as other aspects of listening (i.e. exit, onboarding, pulse surveys). Analyze survey results and work with leadership to develop and implement action plans to improve employee experience and drive a great place to work where employees thrive. You will lead and inspire an engaged team on delivery of innovative Talent Management practices and initiatives that reflect and advance our people and culture strategies.
Lead the direction of talent management programs – You will drive the deployment, communication, and change management of Talent Management initiatives to ensure high adoption, delivery of an exceptional employee experience and ongoing sustainment. You will build the capability of the HR Business Partners (and business leaders if required) in the principles of implementation and sustainability of Talent Management initiatives and programs, including diagnosing potential talent and organizational problem areas, and recommending Talent Management solutions.
Establish benchmarks and metrics – You will ensure effectiveness of Talent Management programming and initiatives, and regularly analyze metrics and present findings and recommendations as appropriate to the VP, Human Resources and Management Team and implement continuous improvement.
Facilitate succession planning – Collaborating with the VP, Human Resources and Management Team, you will maintain a robust talent review and succession-planning framework to ensure development plans are in place to prepare employees for future progressive and leadership opportunities.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Post-secondary education or equivalent practical experience in Human Resources. Specialized studies in Performance Management, Organization Design, and/or holding the designation of Certified Professional Human Resources (CPHR) is an asset, as well as Change and/or Project Management certifications. At least 5 years’ experience demonstrating the ability to turn strategic concepts into practical and meaningful action, specifically with experience managing innovative programs and services. A broad range of expertise including significant experience in three or more of the following areas: HR Strategy, Centre of Excellence development and support, HR Business Partner, Performance Management, Succession Management, Employee Engagement, and Organization Design and Effectiveness. Proven project management and change management skills to build, implement and sustain new talent management programs. Experience in effectively utilizing HR technology to identify and solve business problems and improve efficiency in talent management programs and processes. Excellent communication with superior presentation and facilitation skills; ability to build influential and impactful relationships, internally and externally in order to lead and drive change. Proven experience in influencing and leading cross-functional collaboration with senior leaders.
