Job Description
- Provide effective and relevant legal advice on diverse topics from infrastructure, property, regulation and internal operations.
- Strategic guidance to on-going initiatives, ensuring group wide governance standards and setting the standards for effective delivery.
- Be an active member of the Executive Leadership Team, collaborating with different departments and divisions to provide insightful legal and strategy support.
- Manage the day-to-day runnings of the Legal Services team.
- Sit on relevant committees and represent the company to relevant regulatory bodies.
- Deliver training on new legal topics to teams.
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified Lawyer with admission to the WA Supreme Court (open to other states).
- Partner (or extremely senior) from Private Practice; experienced General Counsel or with demonstrable experience in managing legal operations and supporting diverse legal topics.
- Previous experience in Infrastructure, Development, Strategy, Property Development, Environmental/Energy and general Corporate Law topics.
- Influential in delivering change and delivering value to complex, multi-faceted programmes.
- Experience with Government bodies or regulated environments is advantageous, but not an absolute requirement.
- Comfortable to be hands-on and provide operational legal support, as managing delivery of complex programmes through delegation.
