Downer invites qualified individuals to join their team as a Database & Reporting Developer. This role involves working on complex projects within the Social Infrastructure and Citizen Services business unit. The successful candidate will contribute to the company's objectives by designing and building SQL-based reports and optimizing their performance.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and build reports in SQL Server databases.
- Establish an approach to enable the UI to display reports using SSRS.
- Implement existing and new reports accurately within time constraints.
- Tune and optimize queries used by the system and its reports.
- Support the application environment.

This role requires you to have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/IT or equivalent
- Extensive IT and business/industry experience
- Solid experience in SQL Server, T-SQL language, and SSRS
- Experience with writing, and maintaining complex procedural programs (in T-SQL)
- Experience with writing T-SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures
- Proven experience in delivering technology solutions/products
- Ability to interpret unclear requests and determine desired outcomes
- Exposure to project management methodologies and planning
- Experience in a complex organizational environment
- Development of functional specifications, gap and solution analysis
- Experience in business process documentation and re-engineering
You would benefit from having:
- Experience with Microsoft Access Forms and VBA
