How will I help?
The Senior Manager, Risk Committee Governance will be joining Westpac’s Risk team to be Secretary for three Line 2 Risk Committees: Model Risk Committee, Stress Testing Committee and Credit Risk Estimates Committee. You will liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including General Managers and other senior stakeholders to plan and manage meetings; draft agendas, minutes, actions; and prepare materials to assist the Chair, as required.
You will manage annual committee performance reviews, prepare committee forward agendas and draft governance-related reports.
In addition, you will:
- Support Risk Committee Governance and our continuous improvement initiatives in the pursuit of consistently excellent risk governance practices throughout the Group, including through the Risk Committee Governance Community of Practice, and
- Manage ad-hoc team requirements, such as responding to regulator requests and improving team processes.

What do I need?
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in governance, risk, legal or compliance, preferably with an interest in technical aspects of risk. You will have excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to execute and set boundaries. You will have a strong understanding of governance processes and have had exposure to committee governance. In addition, you will:
- Be experienced in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Be experienced in ‘joining the dots’, planning and solving problems proactively.
- Have a strong service mindset, with good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Take accountability and drive results.
- Be hardworking, highly organised, resilient and adaptable.
- Collaborate easily with a wide range of stakeholders.
