About the role
We are extremely excited to announce that we are inviting candidate applications for Junior and Senior UX/UI Designers to be based in our Kurri Kurri Technical Centre on a hybrid working setup.
These UX/UI Designers will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct user research, and translate insights into intuitive and visually appealing designs that align with our business goals on an international scale.
What you will be doing
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and design mock-ups to visualize and iterate on user interface concepts.
- User-Centred Design: Design interfaces that prioritise user's needs, ensuring ease of use, accessibility, and visual coherence.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to maintain consistent design coherence and foster a shared technological understanding across our suite of products.
- Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing to validate design decisions and gather user feedback for iterative improvements.
- UI Design: Create visually appealing user interface designs, considering design system guidelines, visual hierarchy, and consistency across our suite of products.
- Design Guidelines: Collaborate on maintaining design guidelines, patterns, and component libraries as part of the design system.
- Innovation: contribute groundbreaking ideas and ingenious solutions, elevating user experiences and amplifying product functionality
- User Research: Facilitate user research to understand needs, behaviours, and preferences using a variety of research methodologies. Eg interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
What you will bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Design, Computer Science, or a related field. Previous work experience will also be considered.
- Senior: 3+ years in UX design, user research, or a related role within a technology-focused environment.
- Junior: 1+ years in UX design, user research, or a related role within a technology-focused environment.
- Proficiency in prototyping tools like Figma, or similar software.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions, wireframes, prototypes, and UI designs.
- Proficiency in applying usability principles, adhering to accessibility guidelines, and creating designs that seamlessly adapt to various devices through responsive design.
- Experience in applying user-centred research methodologies, including usability testing, to inform design decisions and enhance user experiences.
- Previous experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
