The Role
They are looking for an experienced professional to join their team as a Special Projects Manager / Light Commercial Manager. Reporting to the General Manager of Special Projects, this role involves managing projects from start to finish, building relationships with clients and subcontractors, and ensuring successful financial and operational project delivery.
The Responsibilities
- Check that equipment suppliers and subcontractor quotes comply with specifications, contracts, and quality requirements.
- Negotiate with equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants to meet the specified requirements.
- Prepare letters of intent/place orders for equipment and subcontractors.
- Develop equipment supplier and delivery schedules.
- Regularly visit sites, attend meetings, ensure adequate site labor, and maintain accurate site diaries.
- Review and update project financial status regularly.
- Document claims for delays and extensions of time.
- Input variations before work commences.
- Oversee design and documentation on all projects.
- Compile operating and maintenance manuals.
- Initiate warranty maintenance programs.
The Requirements
- Minimum of five years of Commercial Experience with Consulting Engineers or Mechanical Services, preferably with relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Building Services, or Engineering.
- Experience in contract reviews and negotiations.
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage staff with varied disciplines.
- Strong focus on OHS&E and Quality systems.
- Service-focused, hands-on professional with a drive to 'get things done.'
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and time management skills.
