Services APAC - Mechanical Equipment Engineer - Mining
Location: Brendale, Australia
Join our Services APAC team within the Services division in Australia as a Mechanical Equipment Engineer - Mining to help us take our engineering to the next level.
Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist advice on policy/procedural matters and contribute to their development and review.
- Provide specialised, technical and professional advice within the department.
- Monitor quality of work and work outcomes to maintain a high standard of workmanship and reliability.
- Work effectively with the site team to deliver the contract and business objectives.
- Troubleshoot issues with mechanical rotating machines in Service Centre and at site.
- Master data maintenance of asset management/product lifecycle software.
- Interpret asset information from OEM documentation including operation and maintenance manuals, parts listings and drawings.
- Conduct fault and failure analysis to determine failure root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures to mitigate future failures.
- Develop technical reports, proposals, and support cost estimation.
- Engage and work effectively with key stakeholders and clients to deliver/exceed contract performance objectives.
- Ensure that approved business systems and processes are fully implemented and utilised at site level.
- Provide asset management and engineering support to site crew by solving problems, building technical capability and fostering teamwork.
- Liaise with customers regarding estimation and design as appropriate.
- Initiate and participate in the planning and development of engineering policies and procedures.
What You Bring to Sulzer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Professional Engineering Registration.
- 10+ years technical experience with electrical rotating equipment services.
- Strong experience and knowledge in mechanical rotating equipment used in mining applications (haul truck wheel motors, shovel & dragline motors).
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Experience with the maintenance and asset management of rotating equipment, including asset lifecycle planning, Bill of Materials (BoM) creation, and master data maintenance.
- Familiarity with Australian and international standards.
