Position Summary
The Analyst is an integral part of the global Board & CEO Practice enablement team at Spencer Stuart, responsible for delivering high quality, thorough research materials in response to potential new business opportunities, active client assignments, and internal initiatives. Our Analysts support business development by producing content for client presentations and industry and/or functional research reports that help prepare the pitching team for client meetings. Analysts support active board and CEO assignments with client research efforts and talent pool mappings. Internal initiatives are also supported by Analysts with research efforts that enable recurring internal publications. Analysts gather, synthesize, and present information while utilizing internal and external resources. Over time, it is expected that the Analyst will develop expertise in Board & CEO composition, trends, recruitment, succession and diversity topics. The position sits with the recently established Borderless Team Hub and will work closely in a coordinated and integrated manner with the Global Board and CEO Practice.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development Support and Practice Growth
- Drive the creation of research and analysis for new business development initiatives and activities. Develop sophisticated and insightful presentations, pitch material, and other collateral in partnership with consultants and client development team.
- Draft storylines and narratives which underscore the firm’s ability to serve new and prospective clients and to deliver excellence.
- Track various Board and CEO Practice data points such as business development opportunities, actively booked assignments, and placement data. Synthesize information accurately into readable, client-ready documents.
- Contribute to efforts to innovate and differentiate Spencer Stuart in our Board and CEO work.
- Champion the delivery of an integrated Board and CEO solution set and contribute to successful launch of new offerings, as requested.
- Contribute to practice-wide initiatives, communications, and strategic projects.
Research & Assignment Support
- Develop a solid understanding of the relevant industry/market for board and CEO related engagements including specific information regarding the “SSI value proposition” (differentiation, competitive landscape, strengths, and weaknesses). Synthesize information accurately, so that it is easily incorporated into readable, client-ready documents.
- Develop expertise in Boards and CEO analysis by maintaining an awareness of global and local trends and archetypes of “best in class” leaders/future board members.
- Maintain current awareness of news and issues associated with key client engagements and market opportunities, and share that information and knowledge in a timely, actionable way with practice colleagues.
- Provide support in creation of high-quality error-free client documentation (e.g., position specifications, progress reports, company mappings, etc.).
- Monitor and track relevant market developments including competitive intelligence, company updates, and people moves across the Americas.
- Use quantitative and qualitative information to clearly communicate and present data/details to influence decisions.
Knowledge Management
- Identify and organize internal and external knowledge resources related to Boards and CEO best practices, trends, and corporate governance changes in the Americas. Elevate these resources and promote use in traditional channels and creative formats.
- Maintain pipelines, statistics, and reporting related to Board and CEO business development.
- Respond to content queries received from consultants and teams and deliver resources that prepare them for success.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to enrich the Global Boards and CEO Practice library of content.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that Board and CEO related content in the practice library is accurate, current, and accessible.

Specific Experience Should Include:
- 2-3 years of work experience in a corporate environment, preferably in a research function, ideally within executive search, management consulting, other professional services, or market research.
- A role involving significant client service and the management of multiple projects toward tight timelines in an environment where competing demands are the norm.
- Experience with collecting and organizing information from databases and/or internet resources. Ability to analyze and synthesize data into other formats. Familiar with business reference resources such as Capital IQ, LinkedIn, BoardEx etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Advanced research, analysis, and synthesis skills and experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), with ability to create client-ready presentations in PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a top tier University.
